TreeCapital is a program under Tree Adoption Uganda. This program aims at providing start-up capital to young people with innovative business ideas.
Youth enrolled in the program set up tree nurseries and care for the saplings. They are provided with business, Finance and ICT training over 6 months by experienced mentors and business students at University. read more

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Youth
Any youth with an innovative business idea is welcome to join the TreeCapital program.
Requirements:
– The youths present a proposal of their business ideas highlighting:
What it is.
– What they need and a cost breakdown
– Area of implementation
– Why that particular business.
– How they will implement it.
– Future prospects.

Schools
Schools’ involvement in TreeCapital program can involve the following:
Recycling: collection of plastic bags e.g. used milk sachets
Environment lessons
Practical Training: agriculture- seeds, trees, fruits, leaves, compost, living organisms,renewable energy
Planting seeds
Preparation and Setting up Nurseries

Corporate companies
Corporate companies’ can participate in the TreeCapital Program through:
Undertaking to plant trees under Tree Adoption Uganda as corporate social responsibility
Providing machinery, equipment, transport, refreshments, seeds, compost, mulch, skills sharing,
mentor-ship and training.
Providing refreshments on Green days while youths set up nurseries and on Tree planting camps.

Local Authorities
Local authorities involvement in the TreeCapital Program can involve:
Public sensitization and awareness campaigns
Area identification, recommendation and authorization.
Recommendation and authorization of activities such as setting up nurseries and tree planting
Tree Planting events
Integration of existing programs with TreeCapital
Identification of community needs, challenges, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
